Bucs get a whiff of Clemens

After taking a third-inning lead, the Pirates' bats were stymied by Roger Clemens, whose punchout of Raul Mondesi made him No. 2 all-time in strikeouts. Kip Wells had six strikeouts of his own, but gave up five runs in five innings for the loss.

Flashbulbs lit up the night as Roger Clemens whiffed Raul Mondesi to claim second place on the all-time strikeout list behind Nolan Ryan. The Rocket struck out nine in six innings, giving up two runs and walking three.
